Wool – A NAtural material with good functionality.
The inspiration for Elfvinge comes from Gotland and the many sheep that herd on green meadows all over the island. Wool is a material that originates from sheep, although wool can be found on animals such as alpacas, lamas and camels. The wool is believed to be one of the oldest textile raw materials. Based on wool we have created collections that differentiate from products made out of e.g. leather. Our vision has been to create sustainable and durable products made of felt that age with dignity.
From sheep wool to PRODUCTS FROM ELFVINGE.
During the manufacturing process, hot water is applied to layers of wool. The combination of heat, friction and moisture is what causes the wool fibers in the material to lock with each other. By pressing the wool under high pressure in the final stage, a durable and natural material, felt is created. Felt has a life cycle that is considerably longer than many other materials. Since the felt is made of wool and staple fibers, it means that after the felt product has worn out, it can be recycled safely. Something that is important to us.
eeDesign with details in focus.
The idea began when there was no functional and yet stylish computer case. During our time at Uppsala University, we designed a computer case based on the needs we experienced, fitting more than only a computer in a single case. Fellow students saw the product and asked for cases that could store chargers, gadgets, notebooks and pens. We continued to work and design more products, still with the goal of creating a design that does not go out of time. Elfvinge products are made of 4 mm thick felt material and are available in light grey and dark grey.

Elfvinge tar sin grund i fårens ull. I en tid där mycket naturligt material inte tas till vara fullt ut föddes tanken till Elfvinge. Sedan dess har vi utvecklat en rad produkter i filt, som enkelt förklarat är pressad fårull.
